Install on your website
The 4×4 widget on pinkhouse.tech is the product. You try it there. If it helps, you put the same widget on your own site with one line. No billing. No license. No account. We do not start Windows. We do not read Mail.
1. Try it, then put it on your site
- On pinkhouse.tech, the Sight zone is about four inches by four inches. Pink button. Colour. Sound. That is the widget.
- Paste the line below just before
</body>on your site. - Reload. A pink button appears in the corner. Click it. It opens the same 4×4 widget. Hide puts it back to the pink button.
<script src="https://pinkhouse.tech/sight/widget.js" defer></script>
See it on a fake bakery page, not Pink House: sample site with the widget.
Bookmark, any page you can open
If you do not own the site — Mail on the web, a PDF in Edge, a form at the city — save this as a bookmark. Name it Sight. When you need it, click the bookmark.
javascript:void(function(){var s=document.createElement('script');s.src='https://pinkhouse.tech/sight/widget.js';document.body.appendChild(s);}())
Some sites block this. That is their choice. Pink House will not fight a site that does not want a script.
2. What this costs the actual user — not Pink House
The person who cannot see the page well should not get a bill from us. Here is the honest ledger for them.
| Who | What they already pay | What Sight adds |
|---|---|---|
| A person using a site that has the widget | Internet, a computer or phone, electricity. Those are not our fees. | $0. No account. The voice is already on the computer. The extra download is about 15–25 KB, which is a fraction of a cent on a mobile plan, and usually nothing. |
| A person putting this on their own small site | Hosting they already have — often $0 (GitHub, Neocities) to about $15 a month for a small WordPress. | $0. No license. It does not change the hosting bill in any amount you would notice. Ten thousand visits is still well under a dollar of bandwidth at ordinary rates. |
| A coach or family member | Their time. That is the real cost. We wrote a ten-minute script so that time stays short. | $0. |
| Windows Narrator, Magnifier, Edge Immersive Reader | Included with Windows / Edge. | $0. Pink House does not start them and does not charge for them. |
| NVDA screen reader, if they want the whole PC | Optional. NVDA is free. | $0 extra from us. We are not NVDA. |
| JAWS, if they already live in it | They already pay Freedom Scientific. Home licenses are often about $95 a year. We are not in that receipt. | $0 from Sight. Do not buy JAWS to use this widget. |
| If we ever used a cloud voice instead of the computer’s voice | — | About $0.0001 per article listened, at public Azure-style prices. We do not do that now. The computer’s voice stays $0, and that $0 is what the user gets. |
Short version: the person who needs it pays $0 to Pink House. Their internet and their computer were already in the house.
3. No billing. No licenses. For users at all.
JAWS and Fusion sell home licenses and workplace licenses. Sight does not. There is no personal plan, no professional plan, and no key that turns Colour on. The bookmark, the snippet, and the 4×4 on pinkhouse.tech are the same thing, for everyone.
If Pink House stays in business, it will be the other work on this site — governance, compression, the operations book — not a Sight invoice. A store may paste the widget. A tired sighted person may use Sound. A coach may read the ten-minute script. None of them get a bill from us for that.
4. Why $0 can hold
- The expensive thing — a cloud voice, a human coach, a lawsuit — is not what the widget is.
- The widget is a few kilobytes and the voice already on the machine.
- Off has to stay obvious. That is the real cost of doing this badly, and it is not a price list.
5. Off
On a site that has the widget: Hide widget, or press the pink button to Off. Colour goes. Sound stops. Other windows stay the same.
If Windows is talking, that is not this widget. Ctrl + Win + Enter. Full set: complete instructions.
